Austin/Travis County Sustainable Food Policy Board, Founding Board Member
13-member advisory body to the Austin City Council and Travis County Commissioners’ Court concerning the need to improve the availability of safe, nutritious, locally, and sustainably-grown food at reasonable prices for all residents, particularly those in need, by coordinating the relevant activities of city government, as well as non-profit organizations, and food and farming businesses. See Section 2-1-170 of Austin’s City Code for additional duties. (I was appointed by Austin City Councilmember Randi Shade.)

Citizen Gardener, Founder and Evangelist
Be a part of the transition toward eating and growing local! We graduated four classes of Citizen Gardeners, are constantly making additions to enrollment for the Fall courses. Citizen Gardeners are people who take 10 hours of gardening education classes and complete 10 hours of volunteer/apprentice work along a more seasoned gardener. The Pachamama Alliance’s symposium, “Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium,” is an awesome experience, which I was blessed to share last month. I’d be excited to work with anyone who is aligned with this consciousness-building project. I’m glad to see how well you are employing the Web and the social media to spread awareness of individual responsibility for how we consume and engage with each other on our beautiful planet.
